FAQ

What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapists are licensed health care professionals who help restore mobility, flexibility, strength and function in patients.

Do you have Saturday Appointments?
Yes. Please contact our office to schedule an appointment. We also offer convenient hours before and after work.

Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?
Maryland participates in “Direct Access” which allows patients to seek physical therapy services without a physician’s prescription. However, our physical therapists like to seek guidance from your doctor as to what exactly is going on with your injury; therefore, we recommend obtaining a prescription for physical therapy. Furthermore, many insurance companies also require patients to have a prescription or referral from their doctor. Please contact your insurance provider for more information or you may call our office.

What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first appointment will run roughly an hour and will consist of questions about your injury so the physical therapists can familiarize themselves with your symptoms, history and diagnosis. Your therapist will create an individualized treatment plan for you, which will also include a unique home exercise plan.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

  • Drivers License or Photo ID
  • Insurance Card
  • Physical Therapy Prescription or Referral (if required by your insurance, please contact us if you have questions).
  • New Patient Paperwork; see lists above.
  • List of current medications, vitamins, and other supplements.
  • X-Rays/MRIs/Other Films & Reports

What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable clothing to wear for exam; we suggest shorts/exercise pants, sneakers, t-shirt.
